Specialized working memory training
for smart seniors
The Brain Power Gym WORKBOOK contains a carefully selected set of exercises designed to stimulate working memory.
It is divided into four categories — Language, Numbers, Visualization, and Control & Processing — each with clear, approachable challenges.
Some tasks, such as “Calculation” and “Building Blocks,” come with additional training using QR codes for extra practice.
A key feature of this workbook is the inclusion of voice-based training in certain exercises.

Voice-based training is effective!
When we have conversations in daily life, our working memory is under constant load.
Imagine it as your working memory spinning at full capacity — trying to recall something mid-conversation but forgetting it is a common experience.
This happens because while we listen, we are also processing information; if the load is too heavy, the memory “overflows.”
Similarly, when we try to recall what we’ve just heard while still speaking, the information can become jumbled and poorly organized.
Voice-based training is therefore expected to have high effectiveness in everyday life.
The long-held belief that activities like reading aloud from picture books are beneficial for children stems from the fact that these activities help stimulate working memory.

Our background
Since its founding in 1997, Infinite Mind has specialized in neuroscience research and the development of educational materials.
Our “Brain Power Gym” program, developed under the guidance of Professor Toshiyuki Sawaguchi, has been used by a wide range of learners, from children to seniors, and is available both as computer-based training and in other formats.
We also work with Professor Masamichi Yuzawa of Hiroshima University to offer working memory assessments through Education and Working Memory Organization (EWMO).
This workbook was created to provide even more people with opportunities to train their brains while contributing to ongoing research.
